Starter: Fresh buffalo mozzarella with roasted aroma tomatoes and basil with balsamic vinaigrette.
Main course: Salmon crusted with capers, sun dried tomatoes, onion crisps, served with a citrus sauce.
or, Roast pork tenderloin stuffed with wild mushrooms and a grainy Dijon demi glace.
Dessert: Lemon and Blueberry Tart with coffee and tea

The agape, which was enjoyed by all, included a spectacular feast, great conversation and The Grand Historian’s Presentation. Very Worshipful Brother Michael Jenkyns not only delivered an interesting paper after dinner, but then followed it up with a donation of the 4 history books he has written to the Lodge library.

Templum Fidelis is pleased to announce that at the December 12th meeting, Worshipful Brother Ian Troyer was elected Worshipful Master Elect. A new Brother was initiated into the Craft and we received the District Deputy Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Marvin Switzer on his official visit. Right Worshipful Brother Switzer’s address was presented at the agape and has been posted in the archives.

We will be conducting the installation of the Worshipful Master and investiture of Lodge officers at the January meeting. The paper in Lodge will be presented by Worshipful Brother Jeffrey Gatcke. We are very pleased to be welcoming Very Worshipful Brother S. Michael Jenkyns, the Grand Historian to Templum Fidelis. The Grand Historian is also the guest speaker and will be delivering a paper during the agape.

Our friends at Aqua Terra will be catering the agape and have confirmed the menu as follows:
-Potato Squash Soup with Shallots
-Braised Lamb Shanks with Spelt and Root Vegetable Risotto
-Pumpkin Chiffon Tart with coffee and tea

An alternate main course is available upon request.

The catered menu for the agape will be hors d’oeuvres during the social hour prior to seating, the starter is a cream of mushroom soup followed by prime rib with yorkshire pudding for the main course. The desert is pecan pie served with tea and coffee.

Brethren are reminded of the tuxedo dress code required to attend Templum Fidelis and that confirmation of attendance, together with the banquet fee of $50 must be received by Tuesday, December 8th.

The agape was very enjoyable with fraternal exchange and a good dialogue on the paper delivered in Lodge. After desert we gave audience to a most entertaining research paper entitled “The Kipling Gavel” delivered by R.W. Bro. David Cameron, the Chair of the Grand Lodge Committee on Masonic Education. A great story and an engrossing delivery combined to create a very memorable presentation and we thank R.W. Bro Cameron for making the trip from Kitchener-Waterloo to share it with us.

Both papers presented on this day are posted for your perusal along with all the other papers that have been presented at Templum Fidelis in the TF Archives.

A favourable ballot was taken on an Application for Initiation on this night so we are pleased to announce that we will be conducting another Initiation on the occassion of our DDGM’s Official Visit on December 12th, 2009.

We pledge our allegiance to the newly elected Grand Master, M.W. Bro. Raymond S.J. Daniels and look forward to the many benefits of his wisdom and leadership during his tenure.

Congratulations to R.W. Bro. Thomas Hogeboom, the WM of Templum Fidelis Lodge and to our SD, R.W. Bro Donald Campbell who were both re-elected to the Board of General Purposes. Congratulations also to our IG, R.W. Bro. David Quinn who completed a successful term as the DDGM of Frontenac District.

Of course, to our newest member, M.W. Bro Allan J. Petrisor, we offer our deepest thanks for both the leadership and vision you brought to the office of Grand Master and for your support for the formation of this new Lodge. With the introduction of a Tradional Observance Lodge, the province wide Child ID Program, your support for prostate cancer research and in many other ways, you have, M.W. Sir, left a meaningful and lasting legacy which will continue to have a positive impact on this Grand Lodge and indeed all Ontarians for many, many years to come.

Templum Fidelis held its annual dinner on the evening before the opening of Grand Lodge. The night was enjoyed by all members and guests in attendance and plans for next year’s dinner are already in the works!

The Brethren at the sold out event enjoyed a formal noon banquet and great fellowship at the Bath Masonic Hall. After the banquet, The Grand Master, M.W. Bro Allan J. Petrisor, received an honorary membership and, outside the 18 charter members, was made the first member of Templum Fidelis Lodge. We thank The Grand Master, The Grand Secretary and all the Grand Lodge officers who made this day possible.

We look forward to getting back to the business of the Lodge with our first initiation at our next meeting on September 19th.

Planning and preparations continue for our consecration on June 6th. The Grand Master has further honoured us by agreeing to be the Installing Master. There will be a cut off at 80 for attendance at this event which, after TF members and the Grand Lodge Installing Board, leaves a total of 35 tickets available. Priority access to these tickets will be given to Masons from Frontenac District until April 15th and then, whatever tickets remain, will be made available to all Masons in Ontario.
